Tops on everyone’s list in Avondale would be a visit to the Shoppes of Avondale. From fine art galleries bringing world-renowned artists to town, to a toy store and trendy boutiques, there’s plenty to see on this lively retail corridor along St. Johns Avenue.

Just down the street from the Shoppes is popular Boone Park with 2 playgrounds, walking paths and a tennis center. You’ll find plenty to keep the young and not-so-young alike occupied here. Kids will also enjoy spending time at Kids Park, which provides drop-in  child care. A trip to the Florida Creamery for an ice cream treat would be fun for the whole family.

There is plenty of fun stuff for the grown-ups in Avondale as well. Want to take a self-guided walking tour through Avondale to admire the architecture? Try this link for details. If you enjoy people watching, be sure to stop by The Brick or Bluefish Grill any time of day. The street-side tables let you see and be seen and you’d be surprised who you might run into. Looking for a more intimate dining experience? Try Pastiche or Restaurant Orsay. Want something more casual? Check out the deck seating at Harpoon Louie’s and enjoy a game of pool. The food at Biscotti’s is wonderful and you won’t believe the desserts – mmm!

The neighborhood association, Riverside-Avondale Preservation, hosts monthly happy hour socials, too.
