Avondale is exactly what you’d think of when you picture small town U.S.A. Tree-lined streets, parks, friendly people and everybody knows your name at the local pub. From charming bungalows to stately Tudor mansions, Avondale offers a warm welcome to all walks of life. Predominantly single-family homes, there are few apartment buildings in the neighborhood and the commercial activity is more focused along St. Johns Avenue at the Shoppess of Avondale and along Herschel Street.
Pocket parks along the river, playgrounds, and a tennis complex offer a wide variety of recreational opportunities for all ages. Residents here are always out and about, whether it’s hanging out on the front porch or walking the dog throughout the neighborhood, it’s easy to meet people and make new friends here.
